Prof. Lyndon Jones, DSc PhD FCOptom FAAO FCAHS is a Professor at the School of Optometry and Vision Science, Distinguished University Professor and Director of the Centre for Ocular Research & Education (CORE) at the University of Waterloo. He has authored over 450 refereed and professional papers, one text-book and given over 1000 invited lectures in over 40 countries.

Prof. Philip Morgan, BSc, PhD, MCOptom, FAAO, FBCLA, is Professor of Optometry, Head of Optometry, Deputy Head of the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry, and Director of Eurolens Research at The University of Manchester. His research interests are the clinical performance of contact lenses and he teaches on the same subject area at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He also manages an annual international survey of contact lens prescribing.

Prof. Deborah Jones, BSc FCOptom FAAO, is Clinical Professor at the School of Optometry and Vision Science and a Clinical Scientist at the Centre for Ocular Research & Education, at the University of Waterloo. Her area of clinical focus is pediatric optometry and her research is in myopia control. Deborah is a Fellow of the British College of Optometrists, the British Contact Lens Association and the American Academy of Optometry.

Karen Walsh, is an Optometrist and educator with over 20 years’ experience. She is Director of Global Professional Affairs at CooperVision and was Professional Education Team Leader at the Centre for Ocular Research & Education, University of Waterloo. Karen holds a post graduate diploma in Clinical Optometry from City University, London and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the British Contact Lens Association.

Prof. James Wolffsohn, BSc(Hons) PgCertHE PgDipAdvClinOptom MBA PhD PFHEA FSB FAAO FCOptom FIACLE FBCLA, got a 1st class Optometry degree from Manchester, a PhD at Cardiff University and a clinical/research fellowship at the University of Melbourne. He was appointed Head of Optometry and Deputy Executive Dean for Life and Health Sciences by Aston University and is now associate Pro-Vice Chancellor. He has published over 230 academic papers.

Elena García Rubio, graduated from Optometry School then completed a Master’s degree in Optometry, Contact Lenses and Vision Therapy in Madrid. After completing her education in the US, she is now Director of the Instituto Nacional de Optometría (INOP) in Madrid, specialising in pediatric optometry, pediatric contact lenses and myopia control. Elena also advises contact lens manufacturers on product innovation and education.

Dr. Byki Huntjens, is a Dutch optometrist, educator, researcher, and contact lens/dry eye enthusiast. She got her MSc and PhD from the University of Manchester after which she worked in an independent practice before obtaining an academic position at City University of London. Byki teaches contact lenses to undergraduate, postgraduate, Masters and PhD students plus lectures at numerous national and international conferences.

Craig McArthur, BSc(Hons) Optom, MCOptom, MOptScot, MBCLA, is a practicing optometrist, director and co-owner of an award-winning optometric practice in Scotland. He’s a clinical advisor and consultant, a regular contributor to industry journals and lectures on subjects including myopia management, ocular surface diseases, specialist contact lenses, macular screening techniques and using cutting-edge technology in optometry.

Alexandra Skjöld, is a Swedish Optometrist working in private practice. After completing a master’s degree in Clinical Optometry she has worked as an optometrist for 12 years. The first 5.5 years in Norway, then Alexandra returned to Sweden to join her father’s practice where she is a partner, gaining experience with specialty contact lens fittings, myopia management, binocular vision assessments and vision therapy.

Riccardo Cano, is an Italian orthoptist and optician; he has been working in his family's eyewear shop for over 10 years. During his studies and clinical practice, he developed a passion for the world of orthoptics, pediatrics and contactology. His passion for contact lenses ranging from spherical, toric, multifocal to specialty lenses, led him to start a collaboration with CooperVision as a consultant/field specialist a few years ago that continues today with the new role of trainer/webinar ambassador.

Dr. Sara De Lima, is an optometrist who got her MSc and PhD at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm and then worked in independent practice for eight years, followed by clinical teaching at the Karolinska Institute. In 2011 Sara started at the St. Erik Eye Hospital, Stockholm, where she specialised in medical contact lenses and did a PhD on congenital cataract and contact lenses. In 2021 she started her current job as COO of SöderÖgon.

Dr. Michael Baertschi, eidg. dipl. Augenoptiker und Kontaktlinsenspezialist, graduated as dispensing optician in 1991. He has published 59 scientific papers so far and given over 160 lectures worldwide. Michael worked in private practices, a medical laser clinic and at the University Hospital of Basel. He is a member of several boards in the field of Optometry and Ophthalmology. Since 2003 Michael is proprietor of Eyeness AG in Switzerland.

Karin van Hees-Teuben, graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht, Netherlands in 2010. She’s been working with a leading Dutch contact lens practice ever since, focusing on specialty lenses and myopia control. Karin is chair of the Contact Lens Committee of the Dutch Association of Optometry, an ambassador for contact lens safety and myopia control, and a frequently asked speaker for international conferences.

Dean Roberts, BSc(Hons) MCOptom, graduated as Optometrist at Aston University in 2008. He worked for practices across the UK before becoming Specsavers’ Ophthalmic Director in 2016. Dean is now completing his professional certificates in Medical Retina and Glaucoma at Aston and City Universities. With Specsavers, he has held many roles over the past 6 years and is currently a partner on the Optics UK Board and the Contact Lens Board.

Zoe Bull, is Director of Category Management EMEA for CooperVision. This includes digging into data to understand category trends and creating growth in the contact lens category. Zoe’s held leadership roles such as Head of EMEA Consumer Market Insights for P&G Prestige and Head of Category Management & Insights within Coty. Her passions are customer understanding, shopper psychology and problem-solving via quantitative analysis.

Marcella McParland, graduated as an optometrist from Manchester University and worked in private practice and hospital-based settings in the UK and New Zealand, specializing in complex contact lens fitting. She is passionate about education, leading many educational and digital initiatives across EMEA for CooperVision. Marcella’s current interests are silicone hydrogel materials, myopia management and women in the workplace.
